Funding

Last Updated: April 2026

To ensure scientific integrity and public trust, ETFLIN maintains a rigorous policy regarding the disclosure of financial support. This policy applies to both the authors submitting their work and the operational standards of the journal itself.

Funding Disclosure

Authors are required to provide a full and transparent declaration of all funding sources related to their research.

  • Mandatory Statement: All submitted manuscripts must include a "Funding" section before the References.

  • Detailed Reporting: Authors must list the full names of funding agencies and specific grant numbers.

Example: "This work was supported by the National Science Foundation [grant number XXXX]."

  • No Funding: If the research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors, authors must state: "This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors."

  • Role of the Funder: Authors must describe the role of the study sponsor(s), if any, in the study design; in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; and in the writing of the report.

Editorial Independence

ETFLIN guarantees that financial support, whether from institutional subsidies, APCs (Article Processing Charges), or partnerships, never compromises our editorial standards.

  • Non-Interference: Funding sources and sponsors have no involvement in the peer-review process, editorial decisions, or the selection of content.

  • Integrity of Findings: We do not accept funding that is contingent upon the publication of specific research outcomes or that seeks to suppress unfavorable data.

While ETFLIN focuses primarily on independent research, any sponsored materials (such as special supplements or industry-supported news) are subject to strict safeguards:

  • Identification: Sponsored content is clearly labeled and visually distinguished from regular editorial content.

  • Standardized Review: All sponsored materials must meet the same rigorous baseline for accuracy, objectivity, and ethical compliance as any other scholarly article.

Conflict of Interest

Transparency regarding funding is a cornerstone of managing Conflicts of Interest (COI). ETFLIN requires all parties involved in the publication process (authors, reviewers, and editors) to disclose any financial or personal relationships that could be perceived as biasing their work.
