ETFLIN operates under a transparent Open Access model, ensuring that financial barriers do not impede the progress of global science. We are committed to absolute clarity regarding our processing fees, which are used to cover editorial management, technical infrastructure, and long-term digital preservation.

Currently, ETFLIN is in a nurturing stage. During this period, Article Processing Charges for all non-indexed journals are waived until further notice. This initiative is designed to support emerging researchers and foster a vibrant academic community without the immediate pressure of publication costs.

Comprehensive Waiver Policy

To ensure equitable access to publishing, we offer a robust waiver program that can provide up to a 100% discount on fees once they are implemented. Our criteria for these waivers are designed to support diversity and high-impact research.

Eligible authors include those from countries where national indexation does not provide significant professional benefits, such as non-Indonesian authors contributing to journals indexed primarily in Indonesian systems. We also prioritize support for independent researchers and students who are self-funding their work without the benefit of institutional or external grants.

Furthermore, we provide automatic consideration for researchers from low-income countries, as categorized by the World Bank. In our effort to promote global collaboration, waivers are also available for research that significantly impacts the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or projects involving a diverse team of authors from more than three different countries.

Note: Any request for a fee waiver must be submitted before the manuscript is processed. Requests submitted post-acceptance are rarely approved. Decisions regarding waiver eligibility are determined by the publisher, not by the journal editorial office.

Refund and Credit Limitations

ETFLIN maintains a strict Refund Policy to ensure the stability of our operations and the finality of the peer-review process. Once an article has been processed and published, no refunds or credits will be issued under specific circumstances.

This includes cases where articles are subsequently retracted due to ethical or policy violations, such as plagiarism or data manipulation. Additionally, refunds are not granted for requests to change licensing types post-publication or for minor delays within the normal editorial workflow. We also cannot offer refunds for service disruptions caused by "Force Majeure" events, such as natural disasters or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Billing and Payment Terms

To maintain the integrity of our editorial decisions, the APC is only billed after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication. This "separation of powers" ensures that our editorial team remains objective and that the payment status of an author has no influence on the scientific evaluation of their work.

Upon acceptance, the corresponding author will receive a formal invoice with detailed payment instructions. We support various secure payment methods to accommodate international transactions. It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that payments are finalized within the timeframe specified on the invoice to avoid delays in the final publication of the approved manuscript.

Currency and Tax Compliance

All fees are typically quoted in a stable international currency (USD) or the local currency (IDR) for regional journals. We ensure full compliance with local tax regulations; however, authors are responsible for any additional bank transfer fees or local taxes applicable in their own jurisdictions.

By maintaining this transparent pricing structure, ETFLIN ensures that our focus remains on the quality of the research we publish, while providing a sustainable pathway for the dissemination of open-access knowledge.
